Theme: Reading for Global Excellence

                          My warmest congratulations to the Faculty of English Department, the organizing committee, especially to Mrs. Rosita R. Samson, Head of the Department for another mark of success in celebrating English month. I assure you that your painstaking efforts are truly appreciated.

                          This year's theme "Reading for Global Excellence" highlights the importance of reading as it makes us understand and picture the world around us, thus, providing us the access to reach across time and space to know the thoughts and feelings of others.

                          Truly, the activities set by the department will increase the awareness of our learners on the importance of reading as we ably respond to the needs for global excellence.

Introduction

                       English is the world's universal language. It has been a common speech of about more than 700 million people  worldwide. The advantage of using English as a medium of communication is so profound that the school through the English Department celebrate its annual English Book Month Celebration from November 8, 2009 to December 8, 2010 with its theme "Reading through Global Excellence".

                      Indeed, in the list of activities  that the English Department prepare a number of rhetorical and literary competitions which aims in improving the capabilities of the students , their speech improvements and acting skills.

                     The Department believes that this competition and activities will help students their talents, skills and performance which will lead them to success to what endeavors they will accomplished.Through the English Club Officers, adviser, teachers and students this year's celebration will not be realized without the concerned of  everyone because we deserves to be one and  we as one aims to be globally competitive.

Preface

November marks the colorful and exciting month for students of Paranaque National High School. The English Book Month is taking place and it brings excitement and fun to the students and teachers. This celebration brings us various contests, programs, and activities like oration, declamation, poetry recital,essay writing, mobile theater, poster making, and speech choir. This documentation will give you the details and full coverage of the event.

       This is written for the benefit of the readers. It is for the readers to understand the objectives and events of the celebration through individuals and written articles. It also includes interviews of the persons involved to make English Month as an event to remember globally.

        Through this, students can relate different activities that can enhance their talents in writing, speaking, and acting for them to discover their own talents. Such talents can help build our future leaders for us to have a strong republic and people who are globally competitive.
