MESSAGE
Mrs. Aurora L. Rivera
English Club Adviser
s/y 2009-2010
To my ever loving and very accommodating principal Mr. Urbano E. Agustin, to my very energetic Asst. to the Principal for Academic Affairs, Mrs. Arlene Brigola and Mr. Carlito Adducol, to all the dept. Heads, Ms. Guimapang, Ms. Buenavista, Mr. Castillo, Mr. Partoza, Ms. Mascarinas, Ms. Flores and of course to my ever dearest caring and very supportive dept. Head none other than Ma’am Rose Samson, to my fellow teachers in the English Dept. to my colleagues in the other department, to all the guests, to all the winners of the different contests, to all the students, a very pleasant morning to all.
First of all I would like to glorify our merciful and gracious almighty father for making this celebration materialized.Words are not enough also to say thank you for all your endless support to make this English Month Celebration a very fruitful one. I believe that this is the right time for me as the English Club Adviser, in behalf of my co-teachers in the English Department to give acknowledgment to all the people who is one way or another extended their endless support . Words are not enough to say thank you.
May I begin my sincerest and warmest gratitude to our dear principal because without his permission everything will be impossible. To the heads of the different department, for their patience and untiring rounds to keep the students in their proper behavior specially those who are unruly.
Special thanks and gratitude also to our local government officials for their continuous support by donating trophies, medals and cash. Same too with STI headed by their marketing manager for donating certificates and tarpaulin so that the celebration of the English Month will also be recognized. Of course I will not also forget to give the best recognition to my colleagues in our department. People behind this stage decoration headed by Lito Tindugan,he is really a person whom you can depend on and a very responsible one. Another one is the "Lord" of the Lord and Ladies of Booklandia none other than George Bolima with the help of Bien Ngo and Angelito Cuaresma, another very responsible group that up to the last minute hold on and did not leave the department in the air. To the chairman of the different contests and chairman of different committees special mention to Ofel Ignasio, Nelly Santos, Vivian Factor and Merly Tero. Strike everywhere- to the Municipal Hall go; to the market go; to the Blue Bldg. go, for errand at Divisoria go; no comment at all. To the Spark Staffers headed by Apple Soriano, for the peace and order of the venue. Likewise, to the Boy Scouts led by Angelito Cuaresma and of course to my English Club officers who are always on the front to extend their help.
To all parents who are supportive not only to their children but also to any activities held in our school. I hope that this will not be the last but just the ending of one chapter of our journey to life for the betterment of our society. Remember that this year’s theme is “Reading towards Filipino Excellence”. A quest for query and a challenge that mend our students to prove their talents and enhance more skills which will led them to success in the future.
Thank you very much and MABUHAY!

Reading, Writing, and Speaking are just three of the many important skills on the English Language .Gaining mastery on these skills means a better way of communicating using the language. As James Russell Lowell says, “Reading is the key which admits us to the world of thought, fancy, and imagination. It enables us to see with the keenest eyes, hear with the finest ears, and listen to the sweetest voices of all times”. Reading means many things to us. It can be one of the most rewarding preoccupations of the individual, expanding his horizons and making it possible for him to partake of man’s accumulated experiences and achievements through the ages.
As English teachers, we devote our time in teaching English Communication; we give importance on the worthwhile task of developing the power to perceive beauty and enjoyment of life, of the mind, and of the spirit. So, read and enrich language. It will give us more pleasure; skills that help us discover the answers to questions about existence. It stimulates us to unravel the mysteries of nature. It takes us into the world of thought and imagination, an adventure which enables us to acquire a clear, deeper understanding of reality.
Our goal in this Book Month celebration should not end here. Though, I strongly believe that we have achieved our goal, we must still continue to read, speak, and think. It should be a continuing process.
As your Head in the English Department, I would like to congratulate all English teachers. I am very proud of you for a task well done. Congratulations for involving yourselves and your students more participation than the previous years. With the different learning activities we had just finished, no doubt you have inculcated the values, the self-confidence, and the skills we wanted to be instilled in them. Furthermore, I would like to congratulate the organizers of today’s affair led by Mrs. Aurora L. Rivera, together with the number of teachers, and likewise the officers and adviser of the PNHS-Main English Club.
Thank you and PEACE BE WITH US.

Occasion: English Month
Theme: Reading towards Global Excellence
I wish to convey my warmest greetings and congratulation to all the English teachers, the organizers led by the English Club Adviser and English Club Officers, students who participated and showcase their talents and skills, most likely to the English Department Head, Mrs. Rosita R. Samson.
The significant role of the teacher is to teach and inculcate to the mind of the students the importance of education.
I am grateful that your department is providing the young an opportunity to be educated in order for them to bloom someday. It may only be in the field of competition but also it helps to improve the knowledge and skills especially in reading. This year’s theme of the English Book Month Celebration is “Reading towards Global Excellence”, as I observed the results of the activities and events for the students are fulfilling and unequaled when they reap the full of success.
Providing, organizing, involving and teaching the students through this kind of achievement is an interesting opportunity one can ever have. Through this, students with talents and skills are trained especially in developing opportunity to learn how to read books. Moreover, it provides a good training in developing the qualities of responsibility, leadership, accuracy and cooperation. There will be a strong foundation for them to succeed in any field of endeavors particularly in reading. My dear students, you will be popular and responsible individual in the future. Just read and read for you to gain additional information and equipped with complete knowledge.
